Ask about an eVisa, UKVI account or sharing your immigration status
Use this service if you have a question about:
- your UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account
- getting access to your online immigration status (eVisa)
- updating your UKVI account details
- sharing your immigration status using view and prove your immigration status: get a share code
A new window will open to start a chat with a digital assistant when you select ‘start now’. If the digital assistant cannot help, you can ask to chat to an UK Visas and Immigration adviser during our opening hours.
Questions that cannot be answered
This service will not be able to:
- give updates on your eVisa request - unless it has taken longer than usual
- correct errors on your eVisa –use the report an error with your eVisa service
- give details about your current permission to stay in the UK
- answer questions about a visa application
It will not be possible to rely on the webchat as a record if you contact us again.

If you are having a problem using the ‘UK Immigration ID Check app’, go to GOV.UK for guidance on how to use the app.
If you have submitted an eVisa request, an email will be sent to let you know when it is ready to view. This can take a few days. Remember to check your email junk folder.
